SÓNAR is Barcelona’s wildly popular International Festival of Advanced Music and Multimedia. Music lovers descend on the Catalonian capital to see exhibitions at the MACBA and CCCB by day, and rave at dance parties in Calle Botánica by night.
For the first time ever in 2010, two SÓNAR festivals take place simultaneously – one in the usual Barcelona location and the other in A Coruña, Galicia. Sónar Galicia follows a similar ‘by day’ and ‘by night’ format and boasts a special multimedia area dedicated to Galician artists.
SÓNAR started in 1993 and is a highlight on the calendar of dance music conferences, the perfect place for industry professionals to meet, greet and party. No soggy tents, no muddy fields, no portable toilets – Sónar is a thoroughly urban festival.
Sónar by Day is held in the Centre of Contemporary Culture, CCCB, and the Museu d’Art Contemporani de Barcelona (MACBA). A plethora of concerts, audio-visual screenings, exhibitions and conferences include SonarVillage, SonarLab, SonarComplex and Sonarama – showcases from the worlds of electro, hip-hop, electronic pop, post rock, digital concretism and experimental jazz music.
Sónar by Night is when the party really gets going, in the event’s pub, club and park, all situated in Calle Botánica. As dawn breaks over the city, with the last of the evening’s anthems ringing in your ears, head for the beach, where little groups of tired-but-happy clubbers wind down as the sun comes up, before heading home for a few hours’ sleep.

Festa do Fado – Edição 2010
A Festa do Fado está de volta a Lisboa! Em 2010, na sua 7ª edição, para além dos concertos apresentados na Praça de Armas do Castelo de S. Jorge e nao Museu do Fado. A Festa do Fado inclui ainda: as Noites de Fado no Chapitô às terças-feiras e ao sábado na Fábrica do Braço de Prata; e os fins de tarde ao Domingo na Igreja de Santo Estêvão.
Concertos sextas-feiras e sábados às 22:00, na Praça de Armas, Castelo de São Jorge, entrada 12,50 euros. Concertos quintas-feiras às 19:00, no Museu do Fado, Largo do Chafariz, entrada a 5 euros. Concertos aos sábados, 24:00, na Fábrica do Braço de Prata, Rua da Fábrica do Material de Guerra, nº1, entrada a 8 euros.
