From the 26th of July till the 1st of August, Barcelona will welcome the 20th European Athletics. The event will take place in the Olympic Stadium, located in the Montjuic Park. You can easily reach the stadium by metro, FGC, buses, or cable car. The metro/FGC station is Plaza Espanya.

The festivities will begin on Monday night, with the official opening ceremony, at the Avenida Maria Cristina. Hansel Cereza, has created the script and he will be the director of the ceremony.

The Magic Fountain of Montjuic will be the star of the night. As the director said “it will be a particularly special show, attractive, innovative and totally different from anything ever seen before”. The athletes will also be part of the show, with the presentation of each team. The ceremony will last 90 miutes.

On Tuesday, the 27th, the European athletics will begin, and they will end on Sunday, the 1st of August. You can still buy your ticket on the website ServiCaixa, and have the opportunity to enjoy this major sport event and support your favorite athletes.
