Fiesta de la Mercè Barcelona

Voici le temps venu de la Fête de la Mercè à Barcelone. Comme chaque année,  le 24 septembre est synonyme de célébration. A l’origine de cette fête, la Vierge de la Mercé : Mare de Déu de la Mercè, que les barcelonais ont prié en 1687, lors d’une invasion de sauterelles.  Depuis elle fut consacrée et choisie comme sainte patronne du district de Barcelone.

La fête de la Mercé est attendue par tous les barcelonais et attire évidemment de nombreux touristes venus du monde entier, nouveaux ou habitués à venir chaque année. Le 24 septembre est un jour sacré et férié  pour les barcelonais, dommage que cette année, celui-ci tombe un samedi ! Mais cela n’empêchera pas la fête de battre son plein. Il y a une foule d’activités et il va falloir faire votre choix ! Même si cela est impossible de toutes le suivre, ne vous inquiétez pas, il y en a pour tous les goûts! Et cela dure du 22 au 25, de quoi remplir son agenda !

 Si vous voulez faire partie des chanceux et voir Barcelone sous un autre angle, avec ses parades de géants, ses feux d’artifices, ses défilés et ses correfocs, des cracheurs de feu déguisés en dragon ou des diables portant des tridents enflammés, typiquement catalans, vous serez intéressés par la location appartement Barcelone.

De notre côté, on vous a préparé une  petite sélection des meilleurs moments, et en plus classés par thème :

  • Découvrir la tradition: partez à la rencontre de la tradition catalane: le fameux discours d’inauguration, pregó, prononcé  cette année par Joaquim Maria Puyal, personnalité du monde de la communication.

 Les castellers: impressionnants châteaux humains, les défilés de  géants, symbole de la fête depuis ses débuts, la sardane, une danse populaire catalane, et spectacles pyrotechniques à la fontaine de Montjuïc…

  •  Goûter : la gastronomie  Amateurs de cuisine et de vins, ces activités sont pour vous !  Au Moll de la Fusta une dégustation de vins et cava (sorte de champagne, produit en Catalogne)

Au Raval, service toute la journée de paella, risotto, riz au curry et riz en tous genres… Pour ceux qui aiment autant goûter que cuiisiner, rendez-vous à Si vous souhaitez savoir comment préparer et d’autres plats internationaux à 17h à la Plaza Catalunya pour un atelier de cuisine internationale !

  • En famille, ne manquez pas le festival d’arts de rue et le « Festival du ciel »: du cirque, des acrobaties, des jeux de lumières et ballons en l’air…. De quoi ravir les petits et les grands !
  • Si vous aimez la musique, vous allez adorer la programmation de cette année du « Barcelona Acció Musical » (BAM) (c’est jusqu’au 24 septembre), c’est tous les soirs, c’est gratuit, et ça se passe en plein air,sur les places plus emblématiques de la ville : Plaça del Rei, Plaça dels Àngels, Parc Fòrum…  Parmi les artistes plus attendus : Herman Düne, Mando Diao, et  4t1a, un groupe catalan qui joueront dans la fameuse ancienne usine de bières locales, Estrella Damm, transformé aujourd’hui en salle de concert.

Où : partout dans Barcelone ! La Mercé prend possession des rues, parcs, salles de concerts, salles d’expositions….

Quand : du 22 au 25 septembre 2011. Point culminant le 24 septembre !

Fiesta Mayor de Poble Nou

Still trying to catch your breath after this years amazing Fiesta de Gracia? Well there is no time for that, the party continues. Since Friday it has been the time of the year for the next neighborhood Poblenou and they are continuing to celebrate till the 18th of September. Members of the Rent4Days have visited this great event and here are their impressions.

After the obligatory official speeches, the party immediately started. During the early afternoon hours families met to take some lunch at the historical streets of the neighborhood. It were friendly afternoons, with many people siting and enjoying, children playing and the sun shining. Soon after dusk music started to play and the streets started to fill. A variety of free concerts started in many corners of Poblenou while streets became more and more crowded. Many hundred party lovers stayed dancing, chatting  and enjoying till the early morning hours.

The Festa Majores de Poblenou will continue until the end of the coming weekend. During the week there will be cultural events like plays and readings and speeches, as well as some music and fun. The widely offered Bingo games are a tradition of this yearly event. The weekend then will once again be more centered around partying and dancing. There is still time; do not miss the chance to rent Rent Apartment in Barcelona and see the spectacular celebrations with you own eyes. If you’re interested in either culture, local history and Spanish tradition, literature or just party, fun and meeting people; then I promise you will not regret coming to the beautiful Barcelona!

On with the neighborhood’s Fiestas!

After the Fiesta of Poble Sec and the Fiesta mayor of Gracià, the next one is Sants!

The Fiesta Mayor of Sants has already started on Saturday the 20 of August but you can’t wait for the week-end to begin and to take the opportunity to discover new places! You will enjoy the district of Sants in a different light. The neighborhood is quite nice and too often forgotten by tourists. Yet it’s worth the trip,and even more with the streets that are superbly decorated and with all the activities organized for this occasion.

If you’ve got kids, don’t worry they’ll have a lot of fun. Some interesting moments are running during the festival: the famous chocolatada whose funny purpose is to meet together to chat and eat many many chocolate! There are also salsitxada or botifarrada for the sausages fans but also paella..! And many concerts, castellers ( catalan tradition of making a human tower) bingos, karaokes and concourse every day.

Just go to explore it! If you want to meet catalan food and tradition, come and rent apartments in Barcelona for these days.

Impossible to miss: the most striking features of the end of the festival on Saturday 27th at 22 o’clock, the correfoc, a typical parade with people dressed as devil dancing around the crowd and setting off fireworks among the spectators.

Ever wanted to experience a real local festival, organized and held only by habitants of a neighborhood? Then you should come to Barcelona soon! From the 15th till 21st of August “La Festa Major de Gracia” is held in the beautiful district of Gràcia. Use your chance to take part in this leisure, artsy, fun but also traditional and personal event. There is no better way to experience Spanish culture.
